Is there any habit you keep doing every day? Jil: My daily routine is very simple - wake up with all the windows open, then meditate and practice yoga, and drink a cup of hot coffee from a French press. Q2: What are the indispensable items in your life?
Jil: I really like the haiku collection of Kobayashi Ichicha (a famous Japanese haiku poet during the Edo period), and when I travel, I carry the English-Japanese bilingual version translated by Lewis Mackenzie with me. Q3: How does the natural environment in northern Germany affect you or your design? Jil: I grew up in Hamburg, Germany, a city ravaged by war, so I rarely felt the magic of nature as a child. Fortunately, Hamburg is a port city, it is connected to the Baltic Sea by water, and there are more canals and rivers than Venice, so there is a lot of water around my childhood environment.
